Bosses in Southampton warn that there isn't going to be a parking get out when civil enforcement officers strike. But wil it be parking ticket free?

Trade Union chiefs last night revealed that forty civil enforcement officers, servicing technicians as well as money collectors will strike from Tuesday when they increase pressure on the authority in a continuing argument about reductions to the salary and conditions of employees.

They
explained there definitely will be no parking ticket enforcement or parking meter maintenance because of the industrial action.

However authority chief Royston Smith stated last night that motorists need to carry on paying for their parking.

He also cautioned trade union chiefs not to promote free parking which he said would certainly worsen the local authority's
monetary problems.
