The Island of Guernsey is a beautiful and tranquil place and one wouldn't think that many parking tickets are issued there. However parking attendant Bernie Falla, who has just retired, has issued an astonishing £500,000 in parking tickets in his carreer. Currently the parking fine is £30 and if this figure is applied to the amount of fines issued that works out at more than 16,000 parking fines. Applying a more realistic average of £20 over the whole period he was employed the number of fines issued is a staggering 25,000!
Sounds like a record.
