New York is famous for its aternate side parking laws but things might be about to change!

Does this mean no more New York parking tickets? Proposed new alternate side parking legislation will probably make it easier to park in New York City.

Anybody who parks is used to the schedule of "alernate side" of the road car parking laws. Numerous car owners are prepared to take a chance and move their vehicles after the road sweepers have gone by. But that's really not legal and could get them a parking ticket.

Now New York City Council is thinking about a new piece of law that would make it much easier to park and avoid getting that dreaded parking ticket.

One council memember stated that the present state of parking enforcement goes against the original intention of alternate side car parking --He indicated that the whole purpose was to enable road cleaning to take place and was not to raise money nor making it unattractive to have vehicles within the metropolis.

He went on to say that the present unbending and insensitive state of alternate side car parking regulations was resulting in excessive difficulties for working and middle class families that have got to facilitate challenging concerns of family, work, and many other commitments - none of which ought to rquire circling the streets for several hours at least two times each week patiently waiting for their car parking space to be available once more."

The legislation will now have its preliminary hearing next week.
