WARNING BANK HOLIDAY PARKING TICKET WARNING!

It is very easy to fall into the trap of getting a parking ticket on Monday 29th August 2011.

So here is my advice on ensuring that you don't ruin the holiday by getting a parking ticket.

Most councils SHOULD (but may not) allow parking on SINGLE YELLOW LINES on the Spring Bank Holiday (30th May 2011) BUT MAY NOT.  Get in touch with your or go to its website to see how they will be enforcing yellow lines on that day.  If in doubt don't park there!

DON'T PARK ON DOUBLE YELLOW LINES. DOUBLE YELLOW LINES OPERATE 24/7 what ever the day.

Bus Lanes.

Do remember that the day of the Bank Holiday weeked Saturday (28th May) Sunday (29th) and the Monday Spring Bank Holiday (30th May)  (will be treated as an ordinary days under the bus lane rules so if the bus lane applies Monday to Friday then it will apply to the Spring Bank Holiday (30 May 2011).

Yellow box junction are enforced whatever the day 365 days a year!

Parking on Saturday 28th May 2011 and Sunday 29th May 2011.

DON'T GET CAUGHT - Councils will treat these as no different from any other Saturday or Sunday. So if there are normally parking restrictions on Saturday and/or Sunday these same restrictions will apply on Saturday 28th May 2011 and Sunday 29th May 2011.

Some parking bays will be free but not all of them!  So before you park in a parking bay, check the sign on the parking meter or pay and display machine to see when the restrictions apply and when they don't.

DO NOT EVER PARK AT AN OUT OF ORDER METER!

Residents' bays.  To be safe assume that all residents' bays will be enforced from
Saturday 28th May 2011 to Monday 30th May 2011.

Have a great, parking ticket free, holiday.
