Denver bogus parking ticket update: Parking agents lose badges.

Two Denver parking enforcement agents who retaliated against an upset motorist by giving him with a bogus parking ticket are no longer law officers.

The interim Denver manager of safety, Mary Malatesta, terminated their appointments as special police subsequent to their plan was exposed in a 9Wants to know investigation.

Ann Williams, spokesperson for the Denver Department of Public Works, reported.

The interim Denver manager of safety, Mary Malatesta, revoked their appointments as special police after their scheme was exposed in a 9Wants to Know investigation.

"After reviewing the circumstances surrounding the issuance of the parking citations on Aug. 19, 2009, the Manager of Safety's office concluded that it was in the best interests of the city and the general public to revoke the appointments of Vehicle Control Agents Eric Madril and John Culhane," Ann Williams, spokesperson for the Denver Department of Public Works, said.

Since Madril and Culhane are no longer special police, they've been placed on paid leave pending possible disqualification from employment, Williams added.

A 9Wants to know investigation found the officers conspired to give a driver a false ticket last year after he called Madril a "meter maid" and told him to "get a real job."
